Training in Edmonton and Fort McMurray: 11-14 August
Departure FROM THE TAR SANDS: August 15
Last Day and Wrap-up in Calgary: September 3, 4, 5, or 6 (depending on semester start date and group consensus)
Fundraising and Costs
Registration fee: There is no registration fee for the trip, but all participants must be SYC members ($20 annually), since they will be supported by, and speaking on behalf of, the organization. (This membership will also allow you to get a 40% Via Rail rebate, should you take the train to our Edmonton rendez-vous.)
Each participant is expected to contribute to the fundraising effort in the month leading up to the trip, by raising the necessary money for their travel, food share, and logistical support (vehicle, materials, bicycle equipment, etc.). SYC will facilitate and provide support to fundraising.

Hi!
I am very interested in the bike rally.
I have a lot of ideas and I would love to help with it.
I, however, go to school in montreal and will be back there probably at the end of August… possibly I could extend it to the very first days of September. (I am currently living in CAlgary)… I went to the CYCC summit this past weekend as well.
Anyways, I would love to participate and also go to the water conference at fort chip being organized. Also, are there events and meetings along the way… and is there a big event in Calgary. There are a lot of Calgary activists to work on this..
Please contact me and let me know more details and how I can help and support this campaign. It has great potential to get the Tar Sands a lot of attention, this is so exciting
